New Location-Riverside Lanes
The Bowling Bash has a new home in 2018; Riverside Lanes in Mount Vernon. After many years at San Juan Lanes, we want all to be aware of the change and the rationale for it.
It is quite simple, the objective of March for Meals, and its associated programs which the Bowling Bash is one, has always been to raise funds to feed Skagit seniors-the more money raised means more meals for seniors. Preserving as much of a donation as possible by controlling costs, also supports our objective to provide as many meals as possible for seniors.
For the first time, the March for Meals/Bowling Bash Committee put the Bowling Bash “out-to-bid” in hopes of finding ways to control costs, while maintaining the delightful experience Bowling Bash participants have come to enjoy. Both San Juan Lanes and Riverside Lanes responded to our request; however, Riverside Lanes provided cost saving options equivalent to approximately 300 meals for our seniors.
In addition to the cost savings, Riverside Lanes’ provides more lanes (24 vs. 16), additional space and a central location in the county, which should enhance the Bowling Bash experience for all.
